Who Are We ?

The name 'MERLIN' has been associated with diesel fuel injection test equipment since 1947, when it was manufactured by engineers C.T. Rhodes of Halifax, West Yorkshire, and later, in the early 1960's, Merlin International (Engineers) Ltd of Preston, Lancashire.

In 1991 the company was purchased by our Chairman and Finance Director, Ken Bramley and Jonathan Chaytor respectively and moved to modern premises at Walton Summit Centre, Preston, where the operation was restructured and a programme of improvements and new products were quickly introduced.

The product range covers automotive, marine, rail and power generation applications and includes test equipment for electronic unit injectors, common rail injectors and electronic governed fuel pumps.

"Ten years on saw the expansion of the company by the acquisition of diesel injection spare parts supplier, Hilo Diesel Systems. This has resulted in a new parts division being introduced and a change of name to Merlin Diesel Systems Ltd. This change saw Merlin re-locate to larger premises of around 20,000 sq ft."

Merlin is now the market leader in the supply of diesel fuel injection spare parts & test equipment. Merlin are Authorized Distributors for the following companies, Delphi, Bosch, Denso, Zexel, Stanadyne, Woodward, VDO (Formerly Siemens) & Yanmar. With more than 30,000 part numbers available ex-stock & more than 235,000 part numbers available within 24 hours we are the UK’s largest supplier of Diesel fuel injection spare parts.

To complement our diesel spares division, Merlin opened a fuel injection workshop in 2001; this has grown from modest beginnings to a fully equipped hi-tech diesel fuel injection workshop & vehicle diagnostic centre.

In 2005 the company moved in to Filtration with the acquisition of Auken Autoparts & we are now distributors for Mann&Hummel, Fleetguard, Donaldson, Baldwin and Sogefi (formerly Coopers, Fram, and Crossland).
