Common Rail Repair

Merlin’s workshop has a dedicated commitment to invest heavily in new common rail repair technologies, keeping in-line with the latest Euro emissions standards.
Working closely with Bosch, Delphi, Denso and VDO, our common rail test facility, through a program of up to date training and the procurement of the latest repair equipment, is constantly evolving to meet our customers requirements.
Our service exchange program is wide ranging and is constantly being updated. Our test and report service is efficient and professional, offering expert advice within 24 hours of receiving a customer unit.

Technical Data

Solenoid or piezo electric valves make possible fine electronic control over the fuel injection time and quantity, and the higher pressure that the common rail technology makes available provides better fuel atomisation. In order to lower engine noise, the engine’s ECU can inject a small amount of diesel just before the main injection event (“pilot” injection), thus reducing its explosiveness and vibration, as well as optimizing injection timing and quantity for variations in fuel quality, cold starting and so on. Some advanced common rail fuel systems perform as many as five injections per stroke.
