VM1 & VM5 engine valve re-facing machines

The Merlin VM1 & VM5 are engine valve re-facing machines for medium to small Industrial, Rail and Marine applications. Designed and developed with the following functions:-
  • Robust cast iron wheel-head, work-head and bed.
  • All slides fully adjustable and accurately dove-tailed throughout.
  • Easily replaceable wheel-head grinding spindle cartridge, fitted with extra precision bearings.
  • Grinding spindle speed 4000rpm.
  • Wheel-head and work-head independently driven by electric motors, 1⁄2hp and 1⁄2hp respectively.
  • Wet grinding by gear pump.
  • Large capacity coolant tank fitted with filter/sludge trap and drain plug.
  • Wheel-head feed graduated in 0.025mm.
  • Centre pivot locking lever to ensure repeatability of valve angle being ground.
  • Work-head fitted with two self centering, precision chucks to accommodate longer valves.
Both machines can be suppled with steel pedestal cabinet with drawer and storage cupboard.
